WOW! You are amazing!!!

I thought I sent one out before, but I will try and do it again, just as well.

Fist of all, I was amazed at how generous Jerra's Angel Fund was! It totally blew my family away! Because of Jerra's Angel Fund we were able to participate in our first "Walk to Remember" in October of 2008 in Ann Arbor, Michigan with as much of my family that was able to get off work. Since our family is rather large, traveling is not something that our family is able to do a whole lot of! In fact we had to drive over in two vehicles to fit us all, along with all of our gear for a two night stay! Jerra's Angel Heart Fund paid in full our three rooms at a beautiful hotel with an indoor pool and gave us also money for our meals and gas! We had never been anywhere where we had so much space with so many rooms, we have always crowded into one or two connecting rooms! My kids were soooo excited to have rooms to them selves! We were also hosting a foreign exchange student from Kazakhstan, and she was able to understand it all and join us, thanks to Jerra's Angel. We were so excited to be able to do this as a family, even though we knew it would be very emotional, re-opening up the grief we had all felt over the loss of the youngest Hayward, Tatum's twin sister, Eliya, whom we adopted just months before she left us to be with Jesus on December 26, 2005. It aslo came at a perfect time as my husband was laid off that same week and we would have had to cancel everything if it had not already been determined ahead of time that it was to be a gift from Jerra's Angel. We were able to just rest and enjoy the few days together remembering our sweet Eliya and not even think about the cost because of the lay-off.

We can't thank Jerra's Angel Fund enough! I also want to thank from the bottom of our hearts, Ida! You know it takes someone special with a big heart to even think of ideas on how to help other people! May God's face always shine upon you and Jerra's Angel Fund.

    "The 13th of the month doesn't have to roll around for me to think of Jerra. I find it amazing that a little girl that I only met a couple of times, has had such an amazing impact on my life, and I am not the only one who has been touched by this family. You see, I have a child with HLHS as well, and at times it is tough(even overwhelming)Jerrra reminds me to be tough, she reminds me to be strong, she reminds me to never take one single day for granted, but most of all she reminds me that there is a home waiting for me in heaven if I just...hold on.
It is inexplicable to some, that I could learn such lessons from someone I have never had the pleasure of knowing, but her life has stayed with me. I suspect that Jerra got many of her most beautiful qualities from her mom...who was one of the first to welcome me into the world of being a heart mommy.
We still speak of Jerra often. Her life has given us an appreciation for the small things. Just last week another heart mom going through some medical issues with her child said, I think of Ida and Jerra when I feel i can no longer do this, and it helps me to push forward...and be thankful, even for the bad times. How many people can say that their lives have taught others to love one another in such a way?
What an inspiration it is to know that through Jerra's life(And her families perserverence)...other children and their families are being blessed. Jerra would be proud.
What I wrote about Jerra nearly four years ago, still stands true today:
The Lord has searched the heavens, Oh who would heed his call? To touch the hearts of so many was Jerra Mia Hall."

This letter is written in support Jerra's Angel Heart Fund. I have been a supporter of this organization since it's conception. I have pledged my time and energy to help Jerra's Angel Heart Fund by assisting families in searching and securing resources to help them through one of the most difficult times in a families life.

I feel it is very important to meet the needs of our local families. Jerra's Angel Heart Fund does something very unique for the families in our area, which is to provide the day to day assistance that many agencies and organizations are not able too do. A gas card, a meal, help with a bill seems small to many but when you can not do those things because your child is so sick you can not work or medical bills tax your finances.

As I have said I have pledged my time and energy as a volunteer to Jerra's Angel Heart Fund. I hope that you will be able to support them as well
